Privacy Policy
We take the protection of your personal data seriously. This policy explains, briefly and plainly, what data we process when you use this website, contact us or make a booking. It follows the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (nFADP) and, where applicable, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

2. Visiting the website
Our website is hosted by Netlify, Inc. (USA). Each visit records technically necessary data in server log files: IP address, date and time, page requested, referrer, browser and operating system. We need this data to deliver the website, keep it secure and fix problems (legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Only with your consent do we also use Google Analytics (section 4).
3. Content from third parties
To display the website, some content is loaded directly from external servers. For technical reasons, your IP address is sent to the provider concerned:
- OpenStreetMap (OpenStreetMap Foundation, United Kingdom): map in the “Practical Matters” section. It is only loaded when you click “Load map”; until then, no connection to OpenStreetMap is made.
- Unsplash (Unsplash Inc., USA): some images on the home page.
The website’s fonts are hosted on our own server; no connection to Google or any other provider is made for them.
The purpose is to display the website consistently and correctly (legitimate interest).
4. Web analytics with Google Analytics
Only if you click “Accept” in the cookie banner do we use Google Analytics 4, a service of Google Ireland Limited (Ireland) and Google LLC (USA). It gives us statistics on how our website is used (e.g. pages viewed, time spent, country or region, device and browser) so that we can improve it. Google Analytics 4 does not store IP addresses; Google signals and advertising features are switched off. Without your consent, Google Analytics is not loaded and no data is sent to Google.
The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). Google may transfer data to the USA; Google LLC is certified under the EU-U.S. and Swiss-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, and standard contractual clauses also apply. You can withdraw your consent at any time via “Cookie settings” at the bottom of every page. For more information, see Google’s privacy policy.
5. Contacting us by email
If you write to info@dreikoenige.ch, we process your details (e.g. name, email address, content of your message) to answer your request and, where relevant, to prepare your stay.
6. Online booking via SimpleBooking
Online bookings are made exclusively through the SimpleBooking booking engine (QNT S.r.l., Florence, Italy). The data you enter there (e.g. name, contact details, dates of stay, payment information) is processed by SimpleBooking and passed on to us so that we can handle your booking and meet our legal obligations (performance of a contract, Art. 6(1)(b) and (c) GDPR). The booking engine is covered by SimpleBooking’s privacy policy.
7. Recipients and transfers abroad
We do not sell personal data. The only recipients are the service providers named above: Netlify (hosting), SimpleBooking (bookings), Google (web analytics, only with your consent), OpenStreetMap (map, only after a click) and Unsplash (images). Some of them are based in the USA or the United Kingdom. Data is only transferred to countries without an adequate level of data protection with appropriate safeguards, such as the Swiss-U.S. or EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses. Authorities only receive data where the law requires it.
8. Retention
We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purpose concerned or as required by statutory retention obligations (e.g. accounting records for up to 10 years). Server log files are kept by our host for a short period only. In Google Analytics, event-level data is deleted automatically after 2 months and user-level data after 14 months.
9. Your rights
You have the right to access, rectify and erase your data, to restrict processing, to object, to data portability and to withdraw any consent you have given, with effect for the future. Please send your request to info@dreikoenige.ch. You may also lodge a complaint with the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC) or with a data protection supervisory authority in the EU.
10. Changes
We will update this policy if our website or the law changes. The version published here applies.
